DBRA & MPPNA
Merge to Form the DBNA

Representing Downtown residents, students, workers, businesses, and institutional partners

We are very excited to announce that the Downtown Boston Residents’ Association (DBRA) and the Midtown Park Plaza Neighborhood Association (MPPNA) are merging in order to serve Downtown Boston residents, business owners, and stakeholders more comprehensively.

The two organizations will come together under a new umbrella, the Downtown Boston Neighborhood Association (DBNA), and will continue to create a forum for discussion and debate on a wide range of topics related to quality of life, development, and business in Downtown Boston.

Our Expanded Catchment Area for the
Downtown Boston Neighborhood Association

Downtown Boston is a thriving residential, business, cultural, and institutional hub within the heart of Boston. Home to the Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, Embrace Boston, Suffolk University and Emerson College, and many theaters and restaurants — the neighborhood’s rich history and many attractions have made it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

The impressive density of residents, including condo owners, renters, and students; commercial property owners; small businesses; institutions, arts and cultural attractions; and social service organizations across the neighborhood is significant and underlies the distinctive character of Downtown Boston.

Our merger was announced at our event, The State of Downtown, featuring Mayor Michelle Wu and our elected officials, in front of an audience of roughly 200 attendees.

Over the past decade, the Association (now DBNA) has grown to over 700 members and established itself as one of the largest civic organizations in the city. For over twenty years, the MPPNA has worked collaboratively with local business owners, residents, institutions, and neighborhood organizations in Midtown, including the Theater District, to improve quality of life for all who work, visit, and reside in the area.

The Downtown Boston Neighborhood Association (DBNA) is excited to continue to ensure that Downtown Boston residents, businesses, and stakeholders have an important voice in shaping the future of our neighborhood. The former DBRA and MPPNA leadership teams will continue to lead the new DBNA association. We look forward to continued partnership and collaboration with our elected officials, public safety officials, fellow neighborhood and civic organizations, and institutional partners.
